Last month we ran a contest on our Marula Pinterest page encouraging our followers to pin a photo of their sister and share with us a sentiment or memory of their sisterhood. Our winner, Linda Davison and her sister, Virginia not only represent the idea of “Sisters Make the Best Friends,” but live an example of this philosophy that has truly inspired us.

Our winner Linda entered our contest to win for her sister, which by itself is a beautiful act. The more you learn about these two sisters, the more special their connection becomes. Linda is diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease where the immune system cells cluster to form lumps, and can affect how the organs in the body work. In Linda, these “lumps”, have most recently affected her liver, lungs, and eyes, and she has been hooked up to an oxygen machine because her immune system is so low.  Read more
