The Mysterious Missing Marula Bottle –Solved!

Posted on Sunday, December 23, 2012

“I left it right there and its gone!” said Susan. Her bottle of Marula Oil was sitting on her desk and had disappeared. “I remember leaving my camera right next to it, after the photo shoot and now it has disappeared,” she cried.

We had our suspicions, we had several clues but couldn’t quite pinpoint the culprit until we stumbled upon this...

As he sits perched, observing and reporting your families “naughty and nice” traditions, there’s something else he discovered sitting on your beauty shelf and he runs home to tell to Santa. That bottle of Marula oil you’ve been using has definitely caught his interest, and here’s why!

The North Pole is cold! The wind and cold dry Elf's skin during his trips back home at night. He couldn't help but notice that your face and hands are staying smooth and radiant with your “magical” oil that protects your skin locking in moisture giving your skin that holiday glow.

We know Marula is on Santa’s list thanks to our watchful friends, just don’t be surprised if your bottle feels a little lighter after your elf leaves, he just had to try some Marula for himself! Read more

Safe Sun 101: How to Maximize Your Skincare this Summer

Posted on Sunday, July 15, 2012

As summer cruises into the hotter and sunnier months, it’s important not to forget about taking care of your skin this season. Here are a few of our favorite Marula Beauty tips to keep your skin moisturized, healthy, and protected.

Your Mistake: Not applying often enough
An ABC (only applying during August, baseball games, and concerts) sunscreen regimen is not enough to fully protect your skin during the summer. Even if the sun doesn’t feel hot you are still being exposed to damaging rays. So skipping the sunscreen at your office patio party, while grilling on the deck on Saturday afternoon, or before you hit the outlet mall is causing more damage than you think.

Your enemies: Free Radicals
Free radicals penetrate the skin to attack healthy cells. The main sources of free radicals? Sun and pollution. That’s where antioxidants come in; they can help protect the face from these sources. Marula oil contains Vitamin E and other high antioxidant powers that can help protect against free radicals and is an excellent source of topical antioxidants, the free radical fighting capability is very important for skin.   Read more

Ask Dr. Kaidi - Can A Facial Peel Give Me Glowing Results For My Wedding Day?

Posted on Wednesday, June 06, 2012

Question: I am 29 years old and will be married in June of next year. I am considering having a facial peel prior to my wedding day and wanted to know what the best peels are for my age and when should I start?

Doctor’s Orders:
For young brides I would recommend a glycolic acid peel. It tightens pores and helps the complexion. The recovery is 2-3 days. Most patients can start at 3 months prior to their wedding date. Most doctors will recommend a series of about 3 peels, scheduled in 1-month intervals.

MarulaBeauty Approach: Glycolic acid peels work by loosening up and exfoliating the top layer of skin. High strength peels, like the ones in an office, are good in terms of efficacy but they irritate skin more than their at home counterparts. Beauty isn’t always easy, right? Fortunately, by applying Marula oil after your peel can help soothe post-facial skin by reducing redness and calming inflammation, while hydrating skin and fighting free radicals (one of the major causes of skin aging).  With Marula -The Leakey Collection,  you can skip the recovery days of over-sized sunglasses and emergency incognito trips to Froyo. Read more
