Today is Serendipity Day! That's right a day to discover something that you were not on a mission to find.
Remember the Persian fairy tale “The Three Princes of Serndip,” whose heroes were always making discoveries of things they were not in quest of? This was the beginning of serendipity. It was 40 years ago in Exeter, New Hampshire, Brie Delisi's mom opened up a small retail store. Instead of coming up with a name on her own, she had a contest and invited the town to participate. The name that was selected was Serendipity and it proved to be just the perfect name.
It is no surprise that when you step into Serendipity Boutique, it is not unusual to come across discoveries that you were not in quest of but are so unique, there is a good chance that you will not be leaving empty handed. One of the reasons we love Brie and her shop is that she specializes in carrying products that share beauty from around the world.
