As the sun fades and the winter winds starts, our skin has to adjust to the changing climate. Fortunately, with a little help from the tanning salon and dermatologist, you can keep your skin tip-top shape just in time for the holiday season. We know you work hard in the winter months preparing and planning, so here are a few Marula Beauty tips to add to your skin care treatment this season.

Facial and Chemical Peels are great around this time of year because sun exposure is lower. Excessive sun exposure will damage the new skin and work against what your peel was trying to accomplish. Because of the lower sun exposure in the winter, recovery is quick.  Marula oil can be applied daily after the procedure in conjunction with a sunscreen. This locks in the moisture in the skin  while the sunscreen protects it from the damage sun can cause. With more moisture, this skin will peel correctly, and moisturize the emerging skin to leave your face soft and glowing.  Read more

Marula - The Leakey Collection is throwing off the bowlines and sailing straight into the Malaysian beauty scene. We recently introduced our Marula Oil to the Malaysian beauty markets, and women are taking notice. Philip and Katy Leakey recently presented at the  Breast Cancer Symposium  in Malaysia, and met with beauty bloggers and our distribution partners  to discuss launching Marula on the other side of the world. Fiona, a blogger and attendee of these meetings, is one of the women the Leakey’s met in Malaysia that is a proponent of facial oils.  She has oily skin and learned that if she uses oil as a moisturizer that the production of oil from healthy, hydrated skin actually goes down not up.  She loves Marula oil now!  Jacinta has already written  a piece on the Miracle of Marula Oil.

Our Marula Beauty extraordinaire, Susan Jolley, visited the Soft Surroundings flagship store in St. Louis to lend support for a 4 day promotion this particular store was running in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Assoc of St. Louis chapter. They offered  a 20% discount store wide, the proceeds of which would be donated to that important organization. The focus was on the caregivers of those with this devastating disease. In keeping with the spirit of the event, we were able to offer further insight and training to the salespeople and beauty experts on staff – illuminating the unique back-story that is Marula and just how empowering the harvest and production of this oil is to the Masaai women of East Africa. A wonderful and enlightening time was had by all.
